New Starter Locs My Knotted Locs Journey. What Do I Need To Know?

The first thing you need to know when choosing to start your #SMALLSIZELOCKS JOURNEY with Melissa Blake CREATOR of #KNOTTEDLOCS is, I am NOT a Sisterlocks Consultant.

My work is very respectful, intuitive and detailed, this is because my work is rooted in celebrating our individual African Hair Textures. My work is organic and responsive to what your hair needs to remain on your head permanently while respectfully, maximising it's existence on your head.

What this means for you is eliminating fixed parted grid lines and for me it means, detailed organic creative work, showcasing sustainable maximum locs density.

6 Quick Facts

  • Did you know that African Hair textures continually changes as a result of age?

  • The characteristics of African Hair is so complicated that along one strand, different curl patterns can be present?

  • Hair textures become looser curled as we get older? That's why some hairs struggle with becoming locked up and continue unravelling over years.

  • Our strands continually communicate with us, letting us know, when we are living healthily or stressed or in a vulnerable state? You are receiving hair signals all the time. That is why keeping your hair uncovered through the day is necessary.

  • No to African Heads of hair are the same, even with blood relatives like siblings including twins, simply because environmental facts affect how our hairs form and grow.

  • Our hair reacts to how they are touched and cared for and then it communicates to us whether we are on the right path or not with our strands.

Food For Thought

If you are reading this and you feel like your hair is saying, 'I want to feel the wind on my scalp!' or 'I want no more extensions, excess weight and wigs or weaves on my head.' That's your hair and scalp warning you that your continual hair care practices will lead to thinning strands, lack of hair growth and eventually hair loss. It is not a coincidence you are reading this.

My Typical Knotted Locs Client

So, the typical #KnottedLocs client is not on social media and only interacts on platforms to research what they want.

I describe them as ambitious, professional and very busy people.

Quite a few of my clients had locs, grew them out and unravelled their old locs to transition.

Clients choose Knotted Locs simply because they want sustainable abundant small size locs, it's even better for my clients reduced re-locking cycles, they are too busy to sit in the chair as often as 6 weeks. Knotted Locs Client choose to re-lock their small size locs 4 Times A Year 1.Summer 2.Autumn 3.Winter 4.Spring simply because they understand the importance of resting their scalp between re-locking.

My clients want to develop the healthiest and self empowered relationship with their hair, the long 3 monthly re-locking gaps give clients the opportunity to pay attention to their African Hair Textures making appropriate decisions for their own small size locs.

He wanted to reduce the risk of his locs unravelling, he recognised how straight his strands were.

After 7 years of Sisterlocks, she wanted a better experience with Small Size Locs.

Knotted Locs Client choose this Locs journey because they want their small size locs to be continually hydrated and oiled, they want to wash their hair as often as they choose to enabling significantly improved hygiene levels for Small size locs, they do not want fixed grid lines on their scalps.

Basically Knotted Locs Clients are rebels and want the freedom to choose what's best for their locs, bringing them back to why they chose to live with their African Hair Texture.

Your strands needs to be at least just pasf your little finger's length. Length helps because, I knot along strands to create strong and thick small size locs.
