Retights Why You Can Develop an Allergic Reaction Microlocs / Sisterlocks Wearers.

"You are the most important person reading this share gain a clearer understanding of what your hair needs to thrive for a life time."

Tell me your current Locs Story.

You Are KNot Alone.

What's App

Hair Loss, starts off very subtly and inconspicuously. Initially, you begin talking to yourself, saying things like, 'Am I thinning?' Hmmmmm... 'Am I taking longer to style my locs?' Naaaa... 'I can't be thinning, it's just contracting down, settling. Isn't it?' You ask your consultant she tells you it's normal, your Sisterlocks or Microlocs are fine. BUT your worrying thoughts still linger... 'Why am I taking much longer to try to cover my scalp?' or ' Am I seeing much more of my scalp than I used to in my crown area?' or 'Maybe it's the way I am standing under the light.'

There are many of us who have experienced early signs of hair loss, especially because of our past bad history with neat or too heavy hairstyles. You are not alone.

The point of this post is to help save the locs you've got with the ultimate hope of 100% recovery. Countless of times I've experienced some clients do gain a high level of recovery, but some areas never quite fully recover. Once they've found me and I begin to work with them, they continual say, 'I wish I'd done this earlier.'

That's why this post is necessary to help you to stop re-locking your now vulnerable Locs incorrectly, so your whole head, with all zones recovers as quickly as as possible.

The longer recovery takes the more scary your hair loss can feel. The more unlikely rapidly dormant follicles will regenerate and heal. Advice from an experienced Small Size Locs Loctician, 'Make a change right now!' I meet too many face to face and online clients who have suffered permanent scalp trauma, showing up as significantly regressing edges, exposed scalp in the top and back and locs riddled with white follicle roots, making locs look like highlights.

Be careful, if you are someone who has had a past experience of hair loss and you have fully recovered. Even with a fully recovered head of hair you are still recovering from hair loss and therefore locs would be the worse idea for you. Especially if you choose a hand that wants your locks to be tightly pulled too frequently, or you choose a, 'Fixed grid line' obsessed Consultant. Added to that, having small size locs created with 100% six weekly retightenings / interlocking (pulling, tugging & tightness) will help speed up and spread out any potential hair loss past and present experience.

Hair loss for many of my clients, started in the crown area, with edges discreetly following suit. This is more obvious with thin and vulnerable strands. In the beginning it is discreet, then it feels like overnight you see it as it begins to branch out and spread across scalp.

Not oiling your locks can help speed up your scalp trauma faster, breaking off your thinly stretched locks while a carpet full of hairs grow at the base of your broken Locs. If retightenings are not stopped early enough, that carpet of hair experiencing breaking locs will eventually vanish.

My experience has shown me that hair loss manifests itself in various ways.

The list below of signs and symptoms of hair loss will continually be updated in the hope that you can one day find comfort in the fact that you are not going mad and all the subtle density changes are real. Once you confirm early signs of hair loss, it is your, responsibility to make that change and find the right Loctician/Consultant to take care of your Locs.

Quick Tip

Advise take pictures or quick videos of your loc, revisiting old pics provides you with a lot of information on your locs.

STOP re-locking your hair, at the first sign of hairloss. Rest your scalp from pulling for at least 3 months.

If a loc has fallen especially from your edges, leave that area alone. The follicles are tired. They need rest from carry the weight of that loc however long, short, thin or thick that loc was that has fallen it doesn't matter that area needs rest. Massage with oil when you are wetting and oiling the rest of your locs. You can use any oil you prefer including carrier oils like castor, avocado, hemp, coconut and essential oils like rosemary, lavender, ylang ylang, tea tree and lemon grass.

STOP fussing and over touching that area, The more you focus on that clean, newly smooth patch, wishing it to grow back, the longer recovery in that area will seem to take.

Wet, oil, massage and you will be amazed how quickly hair starts growing back when you forget about that area and accept that it has been weakened and whatever the amount of strands that grow back there, how ever slowly, you will be grateful. No negative thoughts allowed.

When growth does come through do not loc up until strands are long, strong and at least 3 months has gone by allowing follicles to not be overworked in that area. After reattaching your fallen loc back to new growth. Be Gentle and recognise that, that loc could fall a number of months or sometimes a year later because the follicle cannot function like they used to. When that happens, STOP placing a loc in that specific area and live with your afro. KNot every area of your head should have a loc. Sometimes some of your loose hair out between Locs is best. All adds to your maximum fullness vision.

Do your research to understand hair loss in Locs and do not rush your research, take your time to understand what your locs needs and who qualifies to re-lock your locs.
