If you have thin strands, low density hair and you want or have locs, I call your hair delicates, consider these tips gain from my 13 years experience of work with delicate strands.

A grid will flatten the finished look of your overall locs look.
Fixed parting and need lines is a no, NO!
Your Locs must only be about showcasing your African Textured Hair's characteristics.
Your Locs must be watered through out it's lifetime to strengthen and allow your strands to curl and strengthen regularly
